Dean Otto
Dean Otto is one of the most sought-after real estate agents in the Hawaii luxury housing market.
As of 2018, Dean has become the number one listing agent in in the state of Hawaii with an exclusive $260M portfolio and the number one agent in sales in the Northern California and Hawaii region for Keller Williams for 2017. Dean’s value of achievement has remained the driving force behind the name for 30 years strong.
Dean was born in Durban, South Africa, and graduated in 1980 from Westville Boys High School as an All-State Rugby and Soccer player. Following high school, he completed his mandatory national service in the South African Army and was awarded a Pro Patria medal for 18-month service in the Namibian/Angolan war zone.
While vacationing in the USA, Dean received a full scholarship to be a place-kicker for the University of Oregon Ducks and graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications and Film. In college Dean met and married Maui girl, Michelle Wilmore, and moved to Maui in 1989. Dean and Michelle are proud parents of two incredible children, Troy and Cassidy.
Dean has always been involved in his community. Initially as a volunteer AYSO soccer coach and referee and more recently as President of the Board of Trustees of a new independent school, Maui Preparatory Academy. Dean’s philanthropic efforts have resulted in total donations to West Maui charities in the last 7 years in excess of $350,000.
Beginning his real estate career at Kapalua Realty in 1989, Dean was promoted to Principal Broker in 1995. As Principal Broker, he was a member of the Design Review Committee and Kapalua Development Team for new projects, Coconut Grove on Kapalua Bay and Plantation Estates Phase II. 1999, Dean moved to Kapalua’s elite brokerage, Sakamoto Properties, as Broker-in-Charge. Those years at Kapalua built his intrinsic knowledge of the West Maui Market and continue to shape his success.
Currently, Keller Williams Luxury International – Maui Director and Broker-In-Charge, Dean’s 25 years of experience as a top producer has him consistently ranked as one of the Top 100 Realtors in Hawaii by Hawaii Business Magazine.
